Dragon Quest Builders released in Japan on January 28, and producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto spoke with Game Watch Impress about future possibilities for the game, should they decide to make more.
During the interview, Fujimoto is asked if Square Enix have plans to make other Dragon Quest Builders based on other titles from the series other than than the first one.
“First, we’d like to have you all play it, and I’m sure there will be all kinds of requests, and if there’s anything that we can make happen for the next one, we’d surely like to, but if Dragon Quest 1 alone is enough then we’ll just leave it at that,” said Fujimoto. “As for making the next one, I’d like to think about it after getting more feedback.”
He is then asked about possibly implementing multiplayer sometime in the future.
“As far as Dragon Quest Builders 1 goes, it is not possible,” responded Fujimoto. “But if there’s enough demand, I’ll put it into consideration for the next title.”
Dragon Quest Builders is currently available in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.
